Ancient Greek attitudes towards Women
Women in Ancient Greece had very little to no rights. Women were unable to vote, own land or inherit. A woman's purpose in ancient Greece, was at home and taking care of children. These are the generalised information about women in ancient Greece. However some city states in ancient Greece lacks documentation on the roles of women. Most of our known information on the status and roles of women, came from Athens as they had the clearest documentation. Another popular city state Sparta, also had good information on the roles of women. Spartan women, were known to do more physical training like men. Just like men, they had more rights, for example being able to own land and drink wine. Link
